Aptela Named “Rising Star” in Deloitte’s Technology Fast 500 Program Company Ranks 7th on Prestigious List with 401% Growth

Herndon, Va. – November 17, 2008

Aptela, the leading provider of Hosted Voice over IP (VoIP) solutions for Small and Medium-sized Businesses (SMBs), has been named a Rising Star on Deloitte’s 2008 Technology Fast 500. The 2008 Rising Star program ranks the country’s 10 fastest growing technology, media, telecommunications and life sciences companies based on their three-year revenue growth (2005 to 2007).

Aptela provides small businesses with the ability to quickly and easily activate phone service and only requires a high speed Internet connection. The company attributes its 401% percent growth to its singular focus on the SMB market and its ability to provide innovative technology to its customers. Aptela’s proprietary software and switch allow the company to respond to customer and market demands more quickly. Aptela’s customers benefit from a compelling feature set - including unique call management and mobility features – that can increase worker productivity and predictably manage the costs associated with running a successful operation. Even during this challenging economy, Aptela has distinguished itself as a fast growth company with a solution that offers SMBs enterprise-class phone service without a large capital investment or long-term commitment.

“We are honored to be recognized by Deloitte for our strong performance over the past three years,” said Larry Barker, President and CEO of Aptela. “Small businesses are increasingly demanding enterprise-class VoIP services to support their communications needs. We attribute our explosive growth to our ability to provide innovative, yet affordable solutions that meet our customers’ needs and unsurpassed service & support to help them get up and running quickly and easily.”

Rising Star Qualifications

To qualify as a Fast 500 Rising Star, entrants must have had 2005 operating revenues of at least $50,000 USD or $75,000 CD, for the United States and Canada, respectively, and 2007 operating revenues of at least $5 million USD or CD.

Entrants must be headquartered in North America, and own proprietary technology or proprietary intellectual property that contributes to a significant portion of the company’s operating revenues, or devote a significant proportion of revenues to the research and development of technology. Using other companies’ technology or intellectual property in a unique way does not qualify.

“Deloitte’s Technology Fast 500 Rising Star list honors young companies that have differentiated themselves not only through technology innovation, but via extraordinary revenue growth,” said Phil Asmundson, Deloitte LLP vice chairman and national managing partner for Technology, Media and Telecommunications. “We congratulate Aptela for the remarkable three-year growth that propelled it to the ranks of our 2008 Rising Stars.”
