If you would like to use Aptela temporary numbers during the porting process, please follow the steps below:

1. Verify that your Aptela account, phone and auto-attendant are properly set up and that you can receive and transfer calls.
Request your existing provider to "Remote Call Forward with multiple paths" your ported number to the temporary number, provided by Aptela. Important Notes:


• Remote Call Forwarding (RCF) must be completed before you submit the porting request to Aptela, because most providers require that there should be no open service requests on the account in order to complete Remote Call Forwarding.
• An important point with RCF service is to request that it is provided with a desired number of multiple paths. The multiple paths enable you to receive simultaneous calls without your callers experiencing a busy signal. To determine the number paths you should request, consider the number of simultaneous calls you expect to receive and the total talk time for each call.
• Consult with your provider on additional charges for and the time to set up this service.
2. After the Remote Call Forwarding service is established, submit the required documentation to Aptela to port your phone number(s) from the existing provider.
3. Until your phone numbers are ported to Aptela, you will need to maintain Remote Call Forwarding service with your existing provider and use Aptela temporary numbers.
