Web Browser Click to Call Plugin for Internet Explorer

Aptela is pleased to deliver a time saving solution to your Web browsing experience. Our Click to Call Web Browser plugin will seek out US phone numbers from within web sites and turn them into actionable items. With a simple click, your Aptela extension will ring and when answered, your destination party will be called. It’s like having your own personal assistant dialing phone numbers for you.

Created for Internet Explorer users, the plugin will also save your Aptela login credentials facilitating one-click, seamless login into the Aptela web portal.

System Requirements:  Aptela offers a plugin for Internet Explorer version 6.0 and above users. OS versions supported for either plugin are Windows XP or Vista . Sorry, no Mac version at this time. The plugin installs to a size of approximately .24MB.

Installation:  Save the plugin installer to your hard drive, and then double click on the icon to initiate installation. We recommend that you close IE before beginning installation.

After Installation:  After installing, open your web browser. As you surf the Web you will note that phone numbers have a gray highlight and are actionable. To make a call, click on a phone number and follow the instructions.

Settings for your Aptela plugin can be found in the browser toolbar. You will have the ability to change login credentials or seamlessly sign in and launch your Aptela web portal.

You will also see a check-box to activate and deactivate the click to call functionality. If you check or uncheck the box to temporarily turn the click to call functionality on or off, you must also close and reopen the browser window to initiate the change.

Uninstall: To remove the plugin, go to Add/Remove programs within the Windows Control Panel.

KNOWN BUGS:

12/20/2009:  Windows Vista users with IE 7 cannot install plugin. Vista defaultes IE 7 to run in "Protected Mode". If you wish to install this plugin, you will need to temporarily disable Protect Mode. You may re-enable once you complete installation and enter your Aptela credentials.

To configure Protect Mode:  Click the "Security Tab", select the "web content zone", and change the "Enable Protected Mode" checkbox. Shut down IE. Install the Click-to-Call plugin for IE. Reopen IE and click on the Aptela icon appearing in the toolbar. Click "Launch Aptela" to enter your Aptela credentials. Once your credentials are entered and accepted, go back to the Security Tab to re-enable Protect Mode.

Note:  In protect mode, the plugin will not be able to retain your credentials. You will have to re-enter them on occassion.
