Vista compatibility with the web interface
|
Aptela requires several programs/plugins in order to work. If your PC is upgraded from XP to Vista it is likely that these will already be installed, but in some cases, especially if the PC is new or had a format/install of Vista these may not be on the system. Due to Vista's security and blocking schemes, it may not always be clear what plugins are needed. The two most likely missing components are Java (from Sun) and Quicktime (from Apple). Missing Quicktime will cause voicemails not to play properly or at all. Without Sun Java installed there may be a host of oddities with the built in chat client, call-tree, and other aspects of the Aptela web application. The default Microsoft Java is not recommended for Aptela (or most web-applications) so upgrading to the Sun Java is generally recommended. Updated: Sept 2008 |
