Why does the Directory by Name say "that is not a valid entry" when attempting to connect to an extension or user?

This happens when the user is not listed in the Public Directory (user is listed by default) or does not have a first or last name in the user profile.

To ensure the user has their name info and is listed:

  1. Log into your Aptela account.
  2. Click on My Account.
  3. Enter a First and Last name in the user info fields.
  4. Scroll down to Privacy / Call Screening.
  5. Check the box next to in Public Directory.
