How to Change an Extension Number

Only the Account Administrator can change extension numbers.  To change an extension number, follow the below instructions. 
  1. Log into the Aptela account the Operator
  2. Select People from the Navigation Bar
  3. Click the name for the user(s) you wish to make changes to
  4. Scroll down to Account Information
  5. Find the Extension field and make necessary changes
    • Note: When changing extension numbers, you must change it to an unassigned number, as each extension must have a unique extension number
  6. Save changes.  The changes will take effect immediately.

To change an extension number of a Department:
  1. Log into the Aptela account as the Operator
  2. Select People from the Navigation Bar
  3. Click the Departments tab
  4. Click the name for the department(s) you wish to make changes to
  5. Scroll to Department Settings
  6. Find the Extension field and make necessary changes
    • Note: When changing extension numbers, you must change it to an unassigned number, as each extension must have a unique extension number
  7. Save changes.  The change will take effect immediately
