How to Remove "Please hold while I locate your party. You may press pound (#) at any time to go directly to voicemail" Audios

"Please hold while I locate your party. You may press pound at any time to go directly to voicemail" is made up two separate audio settings. This allows you full control over your audio subsystem. Follow the directions below to remove or modify either of those audio prompts.



Custom Transfer Message Settings
"Please hold" or "Please hold while I locate your party" is the default Custom Transfer Messages for each user and department.  The default audio can be silenced or replaced with another wav file.  Note: the audio format for the replacement audio must be 8kHz, 8-bit, Mono wav.

To edit the default audio for Users:
  1. Log in to the Aptela account either as the User or as the Account Operator
    • Users:
      • Select Settings
      • Click on My Account
    • Account Operators: 
      • Select People from the Navigation Bar
      • Click the name for the user(s) you wish to make changes to
  2. Scroll down and click on Call Customization
  3. Next to Custom Transfer Message, check "Do Not Use" to silence the default message.  To replace the message, "Browse" for the audio on your hard drive and click "Enabled."  To restore the default message either un-check "Do Not Use" or "Enabled"
  4. Click Save at the bottom of the page

To edit the default audio for Departments:
  1. Log in to the Aptela account as the Operator
    • Department Managers can log in with their User name and password
  2. Click People on the Navigation Bar
  3. Click the Departments tab
  4. Click the name of the department you wish to make changes to
  5. Scroll down to Call Customization section
  6. Next to Custom Transfer Message, check "Do Not Use" to silence the default message.  To replace the message, "Browse" for the audio on your hard drive and click "Enabled."  To restore the default message either un-check "Do Not Use" or "Enabled"
  7. Click Save at the bottom of the page


Settings for "You may press pound at any time to go directly to voicemail"
"You may press pound at any time to go directly to voicemail" is an account wide setting. To change this setting for the entire account:
  1. Log in to the Aptela account as the Operator
  2. Click Settings on the Navigation Bar
  3. Click "Transfer Options" under Directory Settings section
  4. Check Disable "Press pound to go directly to voicemail" to remove audio.  Un-check to restore audio.
  5. Click Save
