How to Create a new, or Edit your existing, Call Tree

Whether you are a new or existing Aptela customer, you should have a Call Tree setup for you already. Creating a new Call Tree means you want to delete your existing Call Tree set up and replace it with something completely different. Basic Call Tree modifications, such as adding and deleting Call Tree blocks, can be done without creating a new Call Tree. This article includes references on how to record your own custom audio and build your Call Tree.  Only Account Operators have the ability to create and/or edit your company Call Tree.

Before making changes to your existing tree we recommend the following:
  1. Copy down your existing Call Tree settings.
  2. Save all audio files from your existing Call Tree.
  3. Write up a script of how you want your call tree to sound.
  4. Design your routing flow on a pen & paper or in an application such as Visio.
Free of charge, Aptela offers a library of pre-recorded transfer prompts that you may use when creating your Auto Attendant menu. The library includes the most popular departments or functional areas used by our customers. The prompts are meant to provide your callers with a set of options to direct their call to a specified extension. Any file within our Media Library is licensed for your use as an Aptela customer within your active Aptela account. Charges apply for custom Call Tree prompts recorded by Aptela. If you choose to use one of our professional voice actors to record your audio, the file will already be properly formatted and inserted into the Call Tree. Click here to learn more about how to request custom recordings.

Customers recording their own audio must be sure to record the audio in the proper format. Click here for supported formats.

Walk through the following reference articles for instructions on how to do your own custom recordings and build your Call Tree.
