Does Aptela Support *67 and *82 Codes?

The Aptela system does support dialing *67 and *82 to block and unblock caller ID for individual calls. Dialing these codes prior to the number you are calling will block or unblock the user's caller ID for that call only. These codes do not work when you are extension dialing to another colleague.

Important Notes

  • The account operator sets caller ID rules for the company.
  • If a caller ID number is established for your business, when an individual dials *67 plus the number, the action will block the user’s caller ID but may still show the company’s authorized phone number.
  • If caller ID is blocked for the company, *67 plus the number will continue to block the user’s caller ID.
  • Likewise, if the account operator selects a private setting and the user dials *82 plus the number, that call will show the user’s caller ID and will honor the privacy setting for the company’s primary number.

Dialing Instruction
If you want to reach 555-555-5555 with privacy on, you would dial *675555555555
If you want to reach 555-555-5555 with privacy turned off, you would dial *825555555555
