Dialing Methods - Blast versus Sequential

Aptela offers two basic dialing methods, Blast and Sequential. These dialing methods are available for individual Find Me Lists and Departments.

Find Me Lists

In your My Account page, there is a setting near your Find Me List called Calling Method, with Blast and Sequential options.

Selecting Sequentail will ring each phone in your Find Me List in order. Each phone will ring the number of times that you have selected for that phone.

Note: Due to the way the public telephone network operates, non-Aptela phones may or may not ring the exact ring amount you have specified every time.

Selecting Blast will ring up to 5 phones in your Find Me List at a time. If you have more than 5 phones enabled in your Find Me list, the first 5 will ring, and then the next 5 will ring after that...and so on.

Departments

Users in your departments can be rung in the Blast or Sequential method as well. When a caller dials into or is transferred to a department, you can have users rung in order or 5 at a time.

Each user's Find Me List will be processed in the manner that they have set it up

If you need more robust dialing capabilities for your department, Aptela offers a Queueing product that will allow you to route calls to your departments in Round Robin or Skills based dialing patterns.
