Five Ways Aptela Helps Users Become More Productive On-The-Go: Part 1

Some of you may remember our previous post discussing general ways to increase productivity on the road (if you don't remember, check it out!). Since many of our blog readers and customers are remote or mobile workers, or frequent travelers, we thought it would be a great opportunity to follow-up with a post highlighting the five ways Aptela's mobile VoIP can help you become more productive while you're on-the-go.

1. Take advantage of Find Me/Follow Me. This convenient and easy-to-use feature forwards calls to one or more additional phone numbers to ensure you never miss a call. You can ring multiple numbers simultaneously or in a user-defined sequence. Example: Need to travel on a weekday? Just set up Find Me/Follow Me to ring your cell phone instead of your office phone. Not sure where you will be on any given day? Set Find Me/Follow Me to ring your office phone first, then move on to your cell phone if you don't pick up at your office.

2. Use Remote Office. Aptela's Remote Office lets you work remotely by allowing you to place phone calls from any phone as if you were still in the office. By using your IP phones or softphones, you can avoid long distance fees and hotel calling surcharges.

3. Try out Extension Dialing, which allows you to call your coworkers (within your company) regardless of their physical location. Not only does it save you the time of typing out full phone numbers, but it also saves you the need to memorize anything other than their extension.

4. Don't forget to use Call Flip/Call Toggling. This comes in handy if you're in the office, but unexpectedly need to leave your desk and don't want to interrupt the call you're on. Just flip the call from your desk phone to your cell phone, and you're ready to go! You can also flip from your cell phone back to your office phone, in case you arrive back at the office and would like to switch back to your desk phone.

5. Get familiar with the Aptela Mobile Portal.* Aptela Mobile gives you the ability to make changes to your dashboard from your smartphone. Capabilities include viewing your Find Me list to enable or disable the numbers listed, accessing your company phone book to look up extension numbers, and clicking on an extension right from the portal to initial a call. You can also interact with your voicemail and see all new voicemails listed, click the play icon to play voicemails, click on a phone number to return the call, and more!
