Business VoIP A-Z: February 2011 Edition

Happy 2011 from Aptela! We are back with another edition of Business VoIP: A-Z, and like our previous post, will continue exploring ten more Aptela-specific VoIP terms. Hopefully these terms will help you learn a little more about VoIP and what Aptela has to offer, whether you are a current customer or not!

  2. Call Answering Rules - Allows you to configure your system quickly and easily. Incoming calls can ring multiple phones or extensions at once or call them one at a time. Calls can be routed to extensions to voicemail or an alternate phone. Create rules for individual extensions and/or for your company main number.

  5. Password Management - Administrators can reset user passwords for the web portal and voicemail system.
  6. Remote Office - Lets you work remotely, placing calls from any phone as if you were in the office. By using your IP deskphone or a softphone, you can avoid long distance fees and hotel calling surcharges.
  7. Sequential Ring - Allows you to have multiple phone numbers ring in a specified sequence when receiving incoming calls.
  8. Text to Speech Recording - Choose text-to-text-speech to create custom recordings. Choose from a selection of voices that include British accents and Spanish languages.
  9. User Line Presence - View real-time presence for all employees to see who is on/off the phone and available to take or make calls. Available from the User Dashboard, one click will initiate calls to available colleagues.
  10. Warm Transfer - Allows you to put a caller on hold, call a third party, hang up and resume the conversation with the caller.
