Larry Barker
Chief Executive Officer
As Chief Executive Officer, Larry Barker draws upon more than 25 years of broad leadership experience, with proven expertise in Sales & Marketing.
Prior to joining Aptela, Mr. Barker served as Chief Executive Officer of Argent Networks Ltd, where he led all aspects of the company’s growth. Previously, Mr. Barker served as Chairman & Chief Executive Officer of Visual Networks, President of the Software Division at ADC Telecommunications, and President of the Telecommunications Software Division at CSC.
Mr. Barker holds a BS degree in business administration and speech communications from Augustana College, Rock Island, Illinois, where he is a Trustee. Mr Barker also serves on the Board of Directors for Telular, Inc. and Interlink Electronics.
Mahesh Paolini-Subramanya
Chief Technology Officer
As Chief Technology Officer of Aptela since 2001, Mr. Paolini-Subramanya is responsible for Aptela's technical vision, development, and implementation. Drawing upon 15 years of accomplishments in the telecommunications industry, Mr. Paolini-Subramanya is a top executive in the VoIP space, A true Internet pioneer, he developed the technological foundation for the e-commerce revolution by helping to create the world's first online commerce system. Mr. Paolini-Subramanya’s innovations have continually shattered paradigms and re-shaped the landscape of online business. As Aptela’s CTO, his development of value-added telecommunication services continues to revolutionize the capabilities of the Internet.
Mr. Paolini-Subramanya previously served as VP of Development at Neoglyphics Media, Inc. and CTO/VP of Production of Proxicom, Inc.
Mr. Paolini-Subramanya holds a B. Tech from Indian Institute of Technology – Kanpur, and an M.S. in Electrical Engineering from Notre Dame.
Doug Strahan
Chief Financial Officer
As Chief Financial Officer, Douglas Strahan brings over 20 years of experience to our finance, human resources, and administrative operations. Mr. Strahan brings us not only proven financial leadership but the ability to see the big picture with sales and operational understanding to ensure maximum efficiency and impeccable financial integrity.
Prior to joining Aptela, Mr. Strahan was Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of INPUT, the leading government market research firm. He was also Chief Financial Officer for two early stage businesses: Advocates On Call, a company he co-founded, and BIA Financial Network, a premiere financial advisor to the communications industry. Prior to BIA he was Director of Finance for a $600 million division of Blockbuster Entertainment and Controller for $100 million unit of Bardon, Inc. Mr. Strahan started his career at General Electric in the company’s world class financial management training program.
Mr. Strahan holds a post MBA Certificate in Accounting and a MBA in International Business from George Washington University, Washington, DC and a B.S. in Finance and Marketing from Syracuse University, Syracuse, NY.
Henry Popplewell
Sr. Vice President
As Senior Vice President, Henry Popplewell brings 25 years of experience to our Operations, Sales, and Marketing departments. His accomplishments in the telecommunications industry include heading the development of Vertical Industry Business Models, and GPS / e911 Wireless Compliance Projects. With his experience delivering best-in-class wireless business solutions, Mr. Popplewell naturally entered the most exciting space in telecom in 2006; VoIP for Business. Since joining Aptela, he has provided industry expertise and leadership, helping to position VoIP at the forefront of new telecom.
Mr. Popplewell previously held positions with Ryder System, Inc. as VP of Sales; Tradeout.com, as Executive VP; and Nextel Communications, as VP of Transportation and Distribution.
Mr. Popplewell earned a B.S. from the University of Scranton, and an M.B.A. from the University of Scranton.
