JOB DESCRIPTION

You will use your extensive sales management skills to hire, train, motivate and lead a team of inside sales professionals who sell telecom software solutions, IP Telephony, Hosted PBX and converged technologies to the small business segment. We require a disciplined sales manager, experienced in activity based management and skilled in a solution sales methodology. Additionally, you must have demonstrated consistent overachievement of team sales quota through balanced performance management.

The Direct Sales Manager / Director is responsible for:

  • Managing a team of 15-18 sales professionals in all aspects of sales cycle including prospecting, cold calling, product demonstrations and sales pitches, and closing
  • Achieving the sales plan through developing the sales team, employing activity-based management, utilizing a solution selling methodology and adherence to CRM standards
  • Coach, mentor and conduct regular performance management sessions with the sales team
  • Drive cold calling and prospecting activities
  • Motivate and drive performance through regular sales contests and monthly spiffs
  • Work cross-functionally to drive lead generation, marketing materials and sales tool development in addition to operational requirements (e.g. order entry process, CRM requirements, etc.)
  • Conduct daily, weekly and monthly sales performance reporting to manage the day-to-day activities of the team

REQUIRED SKILL SET & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelors degree and sales management experience required
  • 5-8 years experience in sales / sales management
  • Managed sales teams in the business to business (b2b) marketplace
  • Possess comprehensive knowledge of IP-based networks, VoIP or telecom markets
  • Prior experience in the “software as a service” (SaaS) industries preferred
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and management skills
  • Energy, enthusiasm, motivation and outstanding organizational time management skills
  • Experience with motivating, developing and assisting team through all phases of the sales process from prospecting to close
  • Familiarity with solution selling methodologies
  • Possesses integrity and professional demeanor
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communications and presentation skills
  • Proven success in consistently delivering the sales plan via performance management
  • Exceptional computing skills including; familiarity with MS Office, use of a CRM system
  • Experience with SalesForce.com a plus
